Skateboarding

Skateboarding can either be looked at as a sport or an art form. Many people consider it a sport because there are contests and competitions. People gather around to watch skateboarders perform there wild tricks for the judges. Usually, there are great payouts to winning these competitions. Other people consider skateboarding an art form because of  certain styles other skaters may have. These people seem to have more fun with skateboarding and are not just in it for the money and glory.

The many things that interest me about skateboarding are all the different  ways it makes you feel. Sometimes you can go out and skate and have the best time ever while other times you can go out and not land anything at all. When your having a good day skating it puts you in a better mood. It makes you feel as if you are on top of your game. It also makes you look better which builds more confidence. Landing new tricks is a feeling of accomplishment like no other. Once you experience this feeling for the first time, you immediately want to feel it again. This is why skateboarding becomes addicting to most people. Once you become addicted to skateboarding you soon start looking at stairsets and handrails differently. Instead of seeing them as something to walk down and hold onto, you start to see them as different obstacles to skate on. Different architecture in the city is like a playground for skateboarders.

Although, there are days that are frustrating and make you want to quit. Many people take their anger out on their skateboard itself. Breaking boards on purpose is a feeling of relief. When your unable to land a trick it stresses you until you either land it or break your board.

Skateboarding is a way to enjoy yourself and express yourself in other ways. Different skaters have different styles. Some people like to do more technical tricks, while others like to jump down big stairsets. Skateboarding in my opinion is another way to show who you are. If you are more on the wild side then you would probably like to do more crazier tricks and jump bigger stuff. But if you are more laid back then you might like to stick to flat ground and smaller objects to skate.

Here are four websites that have good resources for learning more about skateboarding.
